The aim of
East West Model School is to inculcate in the young minds the true spirit of
education with equal emphasis on western scientific knowledge and also the
eastern ancient Gurukul System of Education. Symbolizing this, the school has
been named East West Model School, thus conveying the message of synthesizing
the best of the East and that of the West as visualized by Swami Vivekananda
and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and many other great sons of India. The school
provides maximum opportunities for all-round development of the child. Apart
from academics, the school offers a wide range of co-curricular activities
including participation in the Annual function, sports events, where all the
pupils are motivated to take part and perform at their level of excellence. An
array of art, craft, dance, music, painting, drawing, physical training,
debate, quiz, essay writing etc. become a part of their education, which helps
to broaden their horizons. East West Model School, Talit, Burdwan, established
in 1997, is an English Medium co-educational School conducted by the Founding
Body called East West Model School Educational Society, presided by Dr. Susanta
Kumar Das. Dr. Das received able assistance and support from the then district
administration for this noble cause. The foundation stone of the school was
laid by Prof. Dr. Johan Deisenhofer of Texas University, a Nobel Laureate, on
2nd January 1996. Dr. Das says, "The school's motto includes giving equal
opportunity to the children of all societies to study and excel themselves
without any prejudices, to become responsible citizens of the country in a
congenial environment of an English Medium School." We at East West Model
School are committed to impart holistic education for a higher academic and
social standard and provide a conducive learning environment and opportunities
'for all round development to instill positive values, self-discipline,
self-confidence, altruism and compassion. We strive for continual improvement
in our quality management system by systematically applying the principles of
quality assurance. The policy is communicated to all staff, pupils, parents and
interested parties.
Today East West Model School is a reference in educational sector in Bardhaman because of all those who are directly and indirectly involved with it. Ours is a persistent attempt to provide the best to our children and this relentless quest is a journey and not a destination for us. The vibrant, young and dedicated staff, the supportive parents, the commitment of the administrative body, has fused to usher an excellent working ethos which permeates almost all the activities undertaken here at East West Model School.
